Magic Moon (NZ) broke down near the 100m mark, and was eased out of the race. He suffered a possible fracture, and was treated on course and vanned off for further assessment, 10th of January 2009.
** 13/3/2009, have recieved confirmation from a reader that Magic Moon (NZ) was indeed euthanased the following day due to his injuries. RIP.
