Whatever happened to...?
Anyone know the status of any of these horses? All have broken down in racing at various NZ tracks in the past few months.
Quick Time (NZ), 5yo m - Broke down badly in off fore, Riccarton Park 7/11/09.
Shear D'Cash (NZ), 7yo g - Broke down, treated on course, Phar Lap Raceway 13/9/09.
Mountain High (NZ), 8yo g - Broke down (steeplechase), Riccarton Park 8/8/09.
Golden Piggy (NZ), 6yo g - Near fore suspensory ligament, Ashburton 20/8/09.
Kiri Curtis (NZ), 5yo m - Near fore suspensory ligament, Hawera 3/9/09
*Update 7/5/2010 racing again.
Tui Kaha (NZ), 8yo g - Tendon injury off fore, Ellerslie 5/9/09.

Missing Horses - Can You Help?
Any information about these horses would be greatly appreciated.
Thymes Vital (NZ) - Injury to off fore suspensory ligament, Gore 27/3/2009.
Update: 29/7/2009 Pleased to say although her racing career is over, Thymes Vital (NZ) is recovering in the paddock awaiting motherhood. Thanks for the injo!
Fyfetheknife (NZ) - Gelding by Spartacus (NZ) led back to mounting yard, serious injury to near fore, taken away for further evaluation Te Aroha 4/4/2009.
Golden Crusader (NZ) - Won the Grand Tavern Steeplechase, but lead back to mounting yard lame, torn tendons in near foreleg, Te Aroha 15/4/2009.
Where's Lunch (NZ) - Faltered near the 400m mark, severe tendon injuries to both forelegs, Riverton 17/4/2009.
Vacant Lot (NZ) - Significant injury to off fore cannonbone, Waterlea 23/4/2009.
Repete (NZ) - Suspensory ligament injury to off foreleg, Great Western Steeplechase 1/5/2009.

Barrachdail Lass (NZ)
Barrachdail Lass (NZ) broke down a the 150m mark at Matamata Racetrack on the 11th of March, 2009. She suffered a badly bowed tendon and other tendon injuries, her status is currently unknown. If you can help out with some information please send me an email.

15/5/2009 * Update * Minstrel Court (NZ) suffered a torn sesamoid and has been saved. He will stand at stud this coming breeding season. Thanks for the information!

Faltered at the 1000m mark, pulled up gradually.
Possible fracture to near fore pastern, vanned off for further evaluation, Pukekohe Park 15th October 2008. He has been added to the missing horses list at right - if anyone has any information about Bullet Proof (NZ) or any horses in the list please let me know.
UPDATE 11/11/2008 ~ Recieved an update on the condition of Bullet Proof (NZ) ....this is really nice to hear and I wish the connections the best of luck with thier horse.
"Bullet Proof was operated on 2 days following the race. His leg has been pinned and appears to have been successful. He will be spelling for 6 months and will be reassessed then if he continues to be a racehorse or becomes a hack as his owners did not want to put him down unless that was the only option."

Not in the Avenues - any word ??
Not in the Avenues faltered just before the line and was pulled up with suspected fractured sesamoids in his near fore, at Phar Lap Raceway on September 14th 2008. He has been added to the Missing Horses List, in the right hand columns.
If anyone can help with information as to his status, it would be greatly appreciated.

Missing In Action
CanYou Help?
Below is a list of horses whos fate is currently unknown. They are all confirmed to have broken down in racing, but I cannot confirm that these horses have been euthanased. It is highly likely that most of these horses did not survive, perhaps put down several hours later after they left the track when the extent of thier injuries was discovered.This is where I require your input ~ If you can confirm any of these horses were euthanased please let me know so they can be added to the memorial properly, and given the respect in which they deserve.

Golden Sea (NZ) - Pulled up with injury to off foreleg, Tauranga 4/6/2008.
Fontera (NZ) - Faltered and broke down on finish line after running 3rd, Omaru 15th May 2008.
Camouflage (NZ) - pulled up before last fence tendon injury to front foreleg, Waikato 30/4/2008. *Update 7/8/2008 Camouflage is recovering in the paddock, to be retrained as a jumper in the coming months.
