Stakes winning 10 year old war-horse Bejayjay (NZ) suffered a sad ending yesterday. After Bennyosler (NZ) fell at the jump near the 600m, Bejayjay (NZ) was unable to avoid the fallen runner and was also brought down. He suffered a fractured near fore leg and was euthanased, 28th June 2008.

Tai Chi Star was born in Australia; sold to HongKong, then came to NZ. He sadly broke his near foreleg in trackwork and euthanased, 4th of August, 2007. He didn't win any races,but he was such a lovley horse, he was the first racehorse/horse i have ever lost (and hopefully only horse i ever loose). I still think about him all the time,he wasnt anything flash on the track,but he was such a gem of a horse and we all loved him.

A half brother to proven gallopers Half Irish and Futureproof, this un-named 2 year old sustained a fractured elbow on the offside fore leg during trackwork, while galloping at stratford. Dearly missed.

Top NZ filly Taatletail was euthanased after suffereing extensive damage to a hind leg whilst in her stable, February 2004. This gusty little filly clinched the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year series by winning the Cambridge Stud *Sir Tristram Classic (NZ-G2) on February 7. Taatletail also strung together wins in the 2003 Highview Stakes (NZ-G3), Indian Danehill Lowland Stakes (NZ-G3), New Zealand One Thousand Guineas (NZ-G1), and the *Sir Tristram Classic and finished second by a nose against males in the '03 Bayer Classic (NZ-G1). She was due to race at Ellerslie on Saturday and then campaign in Australia.

Missing horses alive and well

Missing Horses

Viaduct Belle who broke down in near fore after passing the post 22nd Feb 2008 was saved. She went to Massey Equine Hospital for treatment, and has recovered and healed well. This stable favourite will be off to stud in the next few years. Thanks for the good news.
Also Sir Dylan is alive and well and back in work.

Brilliant sprinter Run Like the Wind was working on the beach as ne normally did, when he suffered a serious fetlock injury. The damaged foreleg was strapped and he was transported to a Takanini veterinary clinic, but x-rays confirmed the worst and he was euthanased, December 2005. He was one of the favourites for the $200,000 Waiwera Infinity Railway Handicap following his runaway win in the Gr. 2 Concorde at his last start. He ran his rivals ragged in the big Avondale sprint late last month, taking his record to seven wins from 19 starts.
